Why are so many people against paying for online in games?

If you pay for it, you will get a better service. Just compare Nintendo Wifi to Xbox Live.

See what $50 a year does? It makes the experience so much better. No FCs, voice chat, demos, and friends lists.

It depends on what Nintendo actually DOES. Keep FC's and charge, hten no way in hell I'm paying for it. No voice chat and charge, then no way in hell I'm paying for it.
Basically, if it isn't Xbox Live, then it's not worth paying for

Well, for one reason, I want online for one reason. To play against other people. I don't care about other crap! Plus, with how hot the Wii is selling, why should Nintendo need to charge for online service?

That's me. :D ^

Because the online is comparable to something you could get with the Dreamcast?

I don't know. Maybe it's because some people can't afford it?  :|

more like if it isn't Live quality online then it isn't worth paying for.
Hell, the PS3's online should be the BASIC online for any game system nowadays, but Nintendo manages to sink even lower than that.

If it isn't comparable to Live, then it isn't even worth paying for. And if they keep FC's, i'm probably not even going to play online even without paying.

HTA!

Xbox live is hard to beat...

And unless Nintendo has a huge overhaul...
I want to be optimistic but don't see it happening.
