what about stuff that is about political and social issues.  they have different types of rap too.

Usually you have the go to the underground artists for them, but Kayne and Lupe are good Substitutes for the time being.

Rap is different from Hip-Hop. Someone like Kayne West would be Hip-Hop, while someone like Jay-Z would be Rap

You got that all wrong.
Someone like Tpain would be Hip-Hop and someone like Jay-z would be rap.
Sometimes they do both just for main stream success but the rest of the album is great.
They just need that 1 club bagner and then they do fin.

Making generalizations about anything is always a dumb thing to do.  I'm not the biggest fan of rap music but there are some catchy songs that i hate to love and there are others the are pretty good music.  Overall, music is music, there's bad and good in every genre.

I just don't like it.

To me personally it's so negative. (not saying any other kind of music can be negative) but..
I can't relate to rap.

I don't have the need nor want to do what they rap/sing about.
Guns, girls, drugs, murder wth! ...
Now, I'm open minded enough to know that not all rap is about what I listed, but the majority seems to be.
